I would say to use an Unix environment. I am running 7.3 on a Sun
Solaris 2.6 soon all to be upgraded to 8i and solaris 7. I have been
taking Oracle training classes and all of my fellow students seem
to be running in a Unix environment mostly on Suns. Those who run
NT are always complaining about Oracle simply cause NT is so hard to
manage. Not to mention you will have to reboot from time to time with
an NT box. I have only rebooted my Sun once in the last 8 months that is
only cause i allocated more memory to oracle in the etc/system file.
Unix is definately more stable. I have also found that working with
Sun Solaris is alot more smoother than to say HP-Unix.
