POSTING MESSAGES TO OAUGnet
Default settings
--You receive postings in DIGEST mode. --You see your own messages. --You receive no separate acknowledgement when you send a post to thelistserver.
You can change any of these settings using the web interface (see above). You can also change your posting default via email (see above).
There are four ways to receive posts from OAUGnet:
--MAIL: receive messages as they are contributed
--DIGEST: receive one daily message with all the contributions for that
day
--INDEX: receive one daily message with only the subject lines for that day
(you then visit the web interface to search for desired messages)
--NOMAIL: to receive no mail from the listserver (it's helpful to turn on
this option when you will be away from the office for a while)
Posting rules
--Recruiting or job posting: OAUG has very strict rules on recruiting.
Recruiting or job hunting on OAUGnet is strictly prohibited. DO NOT post
any message related to open positions, trying to find a new position, or
any related posts.
--Sales pitches: OAUGnet is not an advertising forum. Please feel free to
share information with other subscribers on third party products,
consulting services, or related issues. However, please do NOT post blatant
sales or marketing messages.
Subscribers in violation of these rules will be automatically removed from the list by the list owner and prohibited from resubscribing.
Posting limits and rejected messages
The listserver checks incoming messages to ensure no exact duplicate messages are posted. Do NOT try to post your message repeatedly--subsequent attempts will be rejected. If you have trouble posting a message, please contact the list owner as outlined above.
The listserver will reject any message over 50KB in size. If you have a large attachment, please do NOT post to the listserver.
Good listserver manners
Use of this list is a privilege, not a right. If the list owner feels a subscriber is being abusive or destructive, the list owner will revoke that subscriber's ability to post to the list.
