Looking at the directory reference in your message '/ora/o73/app' it might
be that the system has got itself confused as to which version of the
software it should be running.
Does $ORACLE_HOME point to the correct place does the oracle owner point to the correct place
I assume that the new installation was to a new product directory structure
The message you give with the pointer to the trace file will attempt to go there as directed by the setting for one of the BDUMP,CDUMP,UDUMP type parameters. i.e. BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST etc.
This could all be that you have checked all this but here it is anyway
