ORA-2049 on distributed configuration

The problem appears with two databases connected by db links and another
one. We use symetric replication . Sometimes the users get messages like
ORA-2049 : timeout waiting for locks. At this time, the application
appears very slowly.


Does anyone encountered this problem ? How resolve this situation ?
