Re: INSTALLING 8i ENTERPRISE & DESIGNER 6.0 - EMERGENCY HELP !!

Sean - you CANNOT install Designer and Oracle8i in the same ORACLE_HOME directory, they must have different directories. This is also true for Developer and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

The solution is relatively painless - treat Designer, Developer and OEM as clients of the Oracle8i database by setting up the network files in EACH of the relevant directories to point to the Oracle8i database. See the Net8 Administrator's Guide that explains how to do this.
