latch contention question

hi all,



used some scripts to check latch contention, and i have a very high redo
copy percentage (like 70%) ... i found some things to set to fix this, but
my question is,


what does redo copy mean?



also, the quantity of hits and misses is pretty low, is this something i
should really even worry about?
