Oracle8/Linux - sqlplus won't start

Hi,

I'm using Redhat 6 - I'm trying to get sqlplus to start.

When I try and start it, I get
"Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

I have already applied the patch for Red Hat 6 which is supposed to stop Oracle binaries
from doing this (I used the installation instructions at http://jordan.fortwayne.com).

Any advice on how to fix this?
