I can only immediately think of one... newbie Linux people may have a habit of working as root far too often, then taking that behaviour over to a production system. Not good.

But then I argue the same thing about Oracle DBAs - I don't feel they should be logging in as "oracle", but as another user (who may be in the DBA group), only becoming "oracle" if any OS work is required as that user (eg installation).

I've never been able to convince any DBA of that though :-(
