    Yes. I have run Oracle on RS/6000 at three different companies. It works very well. So far, I have seen no need for running high availability cluster server and HACMP because the standard RS/6000 AIX boxes (with suitable UPS and RAID) have provided enough reliability for my needs. The RS/6000s DO NOT FAIL! We have lost disk drives, consoles, network cards, once (if I remember correctly) one of the four processors in the box -- but the confounded things just keep on running.

    On RS/6000 I only have experience with the server itself (7.1.4, 7.1.6,7.3.2,7.3.3,7.3.4,8.0.4, and 8.0.5)
