Hi Kae,

  1. Database size (there are many others but this one makes Access a non-starter)
  2. As far as capabilities are concerned I have yet to find a database related problem that I can't solve using Oracle (admittedly some of the solutions are ugly -- but they work). Reliability and data integrity. Oracle doesn't screw up my data. For large databases performance is quite good
  3. (Just sticking with applications I have worked on) Prescription fulfillment for mail order and web based pharmacies List Management System for a large telemarketing firm Data Warehouse for an insurance company Clinical trials and imaging system for a vaccine manufacturer Sales Data Mart for a pharmaceutical firm Logistics system for an agency of the United States government
  4. 12 years
  5. ?
  6. DBA
Incidentally, I think your instructor made a poor choice for comparisons. Comparing Access to Oracle is akin to comparing a paper glider to a Boeing 747 ;-)
