Strange behavior on NT

Hi,

I would like to get any suggestions on a strange problem that's happening with us.

We have a large database with about 200,000 new records a day. It's working fine, except for a strange behavior that happens after some hours of processing (about 12, I observed). The CPU gets 100% and don't get down again.

The machine gets slower and we have to shutdown the database. After that, everything becomes fine again.

Our hardware configuration

• Pentium II 333mhz
• 512mb RAM
• 15GB in a disk array

Our Oracle Configuration:

• Oracle 8.0.5 enterprise edition
• 2.5gb on a roll_back tablespace with a pool of five segments, 500mb each
• 4 redo log groups with the default configuration
• Database archive off
