I have an Oracle 7.3.4 instance on SERVER1, which has an OS of Solaris 2.5.1. I can use sqlplus with no problem on SERVER1. On the client system, which is running Solaris 2.6, the following happens: I can tnsping the instance on SERVER1 with no problem. However, when I try to use sqlplus, I get the following messagen after typing the password:

ERROR: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-07429: smsgsg: shmget() failed to get segment. SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks in advance. Received on Wed Mar 31 1999 - 17:59:10 CST
