The MathWorks is looking for a database performance tuning expert
comfortable with operating system internals. The ideal person is someone who
has expertise in delivering 24X7 high performance systems. The Senior
Database Specialist will be working with legacy and newly developed systems.
This person will analyze requirements, make schema changes, design new
databases, and create data warehouses. This person will be working in a
three-tiered environment consisting of database servers, application
servers, and clients.
Qualifications: BS in computer science or related technical area. At least 4
years of experience (2 of which should be database performance tuning
experience) required. NT administration required. Experience in Informix /
Solaris environments highly desirable. SQL Server is a plus. Background in
business systems design, including third party applications (Vantive and JD
Edwards) is very desirable. Superior communication skills and the ability to
work in a team environment are required.
