Our client has refused to use snapshots stating 'Snapshot logs can be
flushed without the Snapshots Finishing successfully'
Any comments?
Is the snapshot launched in a transaction, that would be rolled back if the snapshot failed?
Saw the following in another message:
When the refresh is complete and there are no other snapshots for refresh,
the rows in the mlog$_table1 get deleted. If the delete operation uses a
small rollback segment and fails (there is no way to force Oracle to use a
particular rollback segment on the MASTER), the snaprefresh process reports
that the refresh was successful inspite of not deleting the rows in the
snapshot log.
Is this True? What are the implications? Received on Thu Mar 18 1999 - 09:15:42 CST
