invalid page fault in windows 98

Here is my problem, this works very well in windows NT and windows 95 osr2 but when i try it in windows 98...

I installed the Oracle Net8 8.0.3.0.0 + its odbc drivers portion of the latest Personal Oracle 8. When i use the Oracle Net8 Assistant to configure a service for my odbc driver and when i test it ( or use it ), it crashes with this error:

Java caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 00e7:00000009

i've tried all the odbc drivers from oracle, i even upgraded the java runtime environnement (but as i had guessed, it didn't work).

any help would be appreciated!
