Oracle 8.0.5 Problem on Redhat 5.2

Followed instructions. ./orainst never starts. At first, orainst.cm dumps core (segmentation fault). After a few tweaks, now it complains about undefined object IO_stdio, seems a libc thing.

Redhat5.2 (Apollo), glib-2.07-29 installed

Any comments greatly appreciated!!!

P.S. anyone know if Redhat shared memory config can be done without recompiling the kernel?
