It equals 'connect sys as sysdba'. Difference is 'sys' is meaningful in svrmgrl AND also in the database (i.e. it's a 'real' database account and can be used in SQL*Plus), while 'internal' is only meaningful to svrmgrl. It's password lives in a file outside of the database. It's said that Oracle Corp was going to take internal out, now it is those who like it that kept it there...
