Oracle 2.5 reporting

I have a table with 12 columns:
jan feb mar apr may ....... and these columns have projected dollar amounts for each month. I need to sum columns that are greater than the last day of the previous month. For example: if I ran the report today(3/1/99) I need to sum columns mar thru dec --
