OSS Problems

Please help! I am getting totally perplexed by Oracle Security Server.

I have the "Oracle Security Server Guide". In Chapter 3, under "Installing the Oracle Security Server Repository" step 4 it says a. Type system in the Username field.
b. Type the password that you wish to define for use by the Oracle Security Server administrator, in the Password field.

But if I type anything other than system's password I get a login denied.

Consequently the password for oracle_security_service_admin is what is defined at install (eg. oss).

More importantly, however, is when I get into the Security Server Manager and try to create a Certification Authority, I simply get the message "Failed to Create Certificate for this Identity" without any further explanation.
I have tried all sorts of Distinguished Names combinations, passwords, random encryption seeds and expiration dates without luck. Eventually, after several Create attempts, the application crashes with a Dr Watson error log.

After one such crash, I logged in and under Credentials an X.509 certificate had appeared. I tried setting up some user Identities and these all reported "Failed to Create Certificate for this Identity" but a X.509 certificate did appear under credentials. However, osslogin would always report "Failed to create wallet" even after setting up SQLNET.ORA appropriately.

I eventually dropped the repository and re-created it, but this time I could not get any certificates to appear at all, simply getting the "Failed to Create Certificate for this Identity" message until it crashed again.

Any advice would be very much appreciated as I'm not getting anywhere on my own with this!

Many thanks,
