JOB TITLE: Oracle Programmer Analyst
LOCATION: Fort Worth, Texas
Responsibilities:
Analyze individual program requirements; design methods for fulfilling
these requirements through use of technical expertise in computer
programming; and recommend methods for executing accepted designs.
Perform the tasks determined through the above analysis including:
program design, coding, test data generation, testing and
implementation. Prepare documentation for user and IT Operations.
Consult users or user groups to extract information required to perform
the above duties. Provide PPC with computer hardware and software
consultation expertise. Train users.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or other
related field. Minimum of five years programming/analysis experience in
an integrated on-line batch environment with an emphasis on on-line
applications development and operating systems interfaces. Intimate
knowledge of at least one additional programming language, such as
Visual Basic, 4GL, C, etc. Must be able to work under pressure and
remain calm under stressful conditions. Must be tactful and diplomatic
in dealing with users and vendors. Must have intimate knowledge of
Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Microsoft Office products with an emphasis
on developing applications using these tools and/or operating in this
environment. Must have intimate knowledge of relational databases and
SQL, specifically using Oracle (7 and 8) and developing applications
that use Oracle as the database. Must have working knowledge and be a
user of UNIX. Must have working knowledge of Network set up in Windows
NT and NetWare. Must have working knowledge of intranet/internet design
and programming. Must be able to handle multiple development priorities
simultaneously, be flexible and adapt to frequent changes of tasks of
higher priority and tolerate long periods of overtime. Must be able to
document program designs and create user documentation and training for
new procedures or modifications to existing procedures. Some training of
users may be required. Must be willing to travel to vendor's facilities
for training. Additional travel for related training may be required.
Requires 24 hour on-call availability.
