We're developing a web application server using Powerbuilder. Our database is Oracle 7.3.2 on HP UX, and we're using SQL*Net 2.3. Powerbuilder has it's own interface to Oracle that makes calls to the OCI libraries. Under heavy load, the app server GPFs pretty regularly...it's totally unstable. Some have recommended that we use a paremeter for our Oracle interface called "threadsafe=yes". I can't find any documentation for this parameter. I'm curious what affect this parameter would actually have on our application and what it's actually causing the database to do.

If anyone could assist or provide information it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Mike
