I would like to find out how you represent sub-typing or inheritance for tables in Oracle. For example :

I have 2 types of Users :

  1. Consumer
  2. Business

Both Consumer and Business have :

     UserId, Password, FirstName and LastName.

However, Consumer has additional fields that Business does not have :

     Birthdate, SalaryRange etc.

I am thinking of having a general USER table that contains fields that are common to both users. But how do I represent that the user is a Consumer, and another is a Business User?
