Hi,
if you are using ORACLE on an NT box and have to access
it via a firewall, you are in trouble. ORACLE support told us
this is an NT problem, but at the same announced it would
be fixed with ORACLE8 (we used ORACLE 7.3.x). Our tests
with ORACLE8 showed no evidence of the problem being fixed,
which is not too big a surprise, as the problem (as quoted above)
is supposed to be located in the NT kernel.
btw: There is no problem connecting to ORACLE a unix box via a firewall.
