Personal Oracle 7 + ASP + CommitTrans = hang! Help?

On my NT 4.0 Workstation, I've got Personal Oracle 7.3 and Microsoft's Peer Web Server 3.0 with Active Server Pages. I'm trying to run a script that connects to the database (via Oracle73 Ver 2.5 driver, version 2.05.0301), and performs some operations.

The database connection is okay. Reading data from tables is okay. The problem is that when I start a transaction, get a value from the database, increment the value, write out the new value, and then do CommitTrans, the ASP hangs on the CommitTrans and stops sending HTML. What's worse, this makes my server useless until I reboot. This same script works fine on our main server, which runs Oracle 7.3 as opposed to Personal Oracle. Similar problems (the occasional hang, with different scripts) have occurred on another machine which used Personal Oracle.

I am going insane. Does anyone have some ideas what I can do to make it stop hanging? Atdhvaannkcse.

My opinions. Mine! How many times do I gotta explain it? We are Chuckie of Borg. We don't think resistance is such a good idea. Received on Fri Jul 10 1998 - 14:26:32 CDT
