Sounds like your databases need some tuning quick!! Check out what the memory
parameters are set to in the database initialization files. I have seen
several systems literally brought to their knees when the values for SGA memory
consumption are too high. Also, check the system files for excessive
fragmentation and consider scheduling maintenance shutdown/startups (if
possible). You may also want to evaluate the number of rollback files alotted
to heavy use tablespaces.
