Responsibilities: Provide support for Oracle database management system release 7.3 running on IBM SP MPP machine and on MS Windows NT servers. Perform Oracle database installation and application patches with assistance of UNIX System Administrator. Perform logical database design, data normalization to the 3rd normal form. Perform physical database design, implementation and maintenance functions including the enforcement of Naming conventions and standards for Oracle instances, elements, tables and other database objects. Establish database disaster recovery, backup and support policies and procedures. Provide on-site and off site support during database production outages. In support of the data warehouse develop both star-schema and snowflake schema designs. In addition to data warehouse design functions. Kepp all data necessary to support demographic applications systems development. Support Business Analysts and Applications Developers on data and database issues and in the writing of efficient SQL state
Required Skills: 3+ years Oracle database administration
Oracle 7.3
UNIX (AIX), Sun Solaris
and/or midrange UNIX servers
Successful support of application development
teams
Successful management of Oracle database projects
Excellent Quality
management skills
Good tenure throughout career
Preferred Skills: Prior Consulting experience
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and writing communications skills
Education: Bachelors
