Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> Should Oracle be relinked if AIX 4.1.4 is upgraded to 4.1.5 ?
We have Oracle 7.3.2 in AIX 4.1.4. We like to move the Oracle system to
another machine which has AIX 4.1.5. The Oracle software and database
files are in two harddisks which are attached to the AIX 4.1.4 machine.
Our AIX system administrator thinks we just need to disconnect the
harddisks from the old machine (AIX 4.1.4) and connect to the new
machine (AIX 4.1.5), and he just needs to do some work like importvg,
etc.. And of course, the Oracle configuration files have to be copied
to the new machine and the server's hostname has to be changed, e.g.,
/etc/listner.ora, /etc/oratab, etc.
We tried the way described above, and strated the server in the new machine (AIX 4.1.5) with the script startdb, we got the following error messages:
Oracle Server Manager Release 2.3.2.0.0 - Production

Any idea? Thanks in advance.
