Most of the product is much stronger than the install. I know I've screamed publically about the install for years, exactly because it creates a bad image for new users - and it's a PITA.

Depends which failure. Post details so we can help. Most of the install bugs are really stupid, often IMO resulting from being the early port with poor doc QC.

Start with a clean slate and only install what you need, watch for errors.
