I have made a tool which exactly does what you want. It is an addin for Excel and allows data to go from Excel to Oracle and vise versa. It is using a Oracle dll to do the database access (OO4O), hence no difficult things with ODBC drivers and so on.

The freeware version has the insert and update capabilities included as a demo. The full version is only 25 pounds sterling.
