RE: Integrating BI Publisher with Enterprise Manager

As you may or may not know, BI Publisher is the reporting tool of choice for EM going forward. Information Publisher (IP), the old reporting framework, is still supported but not being enhanced in any way, and all new reports that are being produced by Oracle (at least that I know of) are being written in BI Publisher. There is, as yet, no desupport date for IP, but that will come at some stage. In EM13c, BI Publisher is a first class citizen of EM. By that, I mean it is completely integrated into the EM product suite. BI Publisher is automatically installed and configured in EM13c. If the installation of BI Publisher fails for some reason, the installation of EM13c fails as a whole. In EM12c 12.1.0.5, you still need to run the configureBIP script to actually configure it.

Just completed an upgraded to EM 12.1.0.5. I see that BI Publisher can be integrated with EM. What is the benefit of doing so?
