Your statement and Thomas's are both true.

The two products do not compete, although they undoubtedly share customers who use each for their own purpose. Delphix does not present or sell as a backup utility (although some of our customers use it that way) and, while Commvault and other backup utilities can clone (and I'm sure some customers use it that way), it does not virtualize and mask data.
