Like a number of other members, I'm in the process of upgrading EM from 12.1.0.4 to 12.1.0.5. Chris Taylor provided some wonderful notes about the process, some of which he got from Brian Pardy, and in those notes I came across MOS doc 1664074.1 which gives a large number of patches to apply to the different layers of the EM stack, beyond the latest PSU.

What I don't get is had Chris and Brian not provided their notes, how would the average DBA know about this document or know to look for it? My assumption was in MOS I'd only have to rely on the Patch Advisor. I used that initially and that told me I should use the PSU 160119 for the OMS after the upgrade. Fair enough, but then I figured WL wasn't included so I checked on that and it told me to apply PSU 13 (10.3.6.0.13). OK, but my assumption was that any jdk updates necessary only for EM would be included in these 2. Unfortunately not as 12.1.0.5.160119, I believe, only drug along my previous jdk which is 1.6.0_43.
Regards,
Dave
