GPFS is also available on Linux. I am not sure whether CIO is also available on GPFS/Linux, but I imagine that IBM would know an answer to that

I believe that both RAC 11g and RAC 12c would work GPFS on Linux/x86_64, but support would have to be discussed with Oracle Corp. Oracle 12c can be installed on Fedora 22 and Fedora 23, I tried it for fun, but it's definitely not supported. Using GPFS on Linux/x86_64 does not mean that it is not necessary to convert the files because of endiannes.
