Just saw this article yesterday which should be of interest Virtualization makes DR in the cloud an attractive option, but caution is advised <http://searchdisasterrecovery.techtarget.com/tip/Virtualization-makes-DR-in-the-cloud-an-attractive-option-but-caution-is-advised>

yes, Delphix is a good way to leverage AWS. See these blog posts about
Delphix and AWS
<http://blog.delphix.com/uday/2014/08/29/deplhix-unlocks-cloud/>. Delphix
can replicate from an in-house Delphix appliance to an AWS Delphix
appliance. Then one can spin up a copy in AWS in minutes from any point in
time on prod. More importantly for most of our customers they can spin up
many copies so they can run dev and QA in AWS and spin instances up and
down as needed.
here is one video I took of Jeremiah at Oaktable World 2014 talking about Amazon and EC2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEyvsqh4mfs&feature=youtu.be
