Subject: RE: Cloud Control 12.1.0.1 Certificate Error
Accessing the console in FireFox throws : Issuer certificate is invalid. (Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid) (Doc ID 1912289.1)
Symptoms
Using Firefox for accessing the console gives the following message:
An error occurred during a connection to <Hostname>:<Port>. Issuer certificate is invalid. (Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)
Cause
Issue is specific to Firefox browser.
Due to the specific preference set, which restricts the security while accessing the URLs in this browser.
Solution
Follow the bellow provided workaround:
From Firefox browser,
- In the address bar, just put "about:config" and enter.
- You will get a message, with a button "I'll be carefull, I promise". Click the button, that will list you the preferences.
- Locate the preference "security.use_mozillapkix_verification"
- Change its value from "true" to "false"
Now you should be able to access the URL with out issues.

This is a problem with the latest version of Firefox.
I just found a fix yesterday (which is convoluted but it works - just follow the steps closely).

I "think" there is a bug filed with Mozilla on this too.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
When I use IE, it gives me an error stating that the certificate is invalid, but will let me in anyway.
I tried to work with our SAs, but their response was “It’s your certificate, you fix it”.
The error in IE is on the root. It says “This CA Root certificate is not trusted because it is not in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.” I’ve been trying to figure out how to fix this, but I can’t find the information that I need. This is on Red Hat 6 Linux.
