No, I believe, running rootupgrade concurrently is not supported for *all* nodes. Sequence to execute rootupgrade.sh is always : (a) run in first node to completion (b) run concurrently in all nodes except last node (3) run in the last node.
Common OCR entries must be updated in the first server, OLR entries need to be updated in the other servers, and final run marks the upgrade as complete in OCR by updating final version etc.
You may have been lucky with PSU installs and/or may be that there are no updates to OCR entries during the run.
