Thanks Tim. You're right. Trying to delete a file when there's an ASM client using it throws ORA-15028.

Speaking of that, I have a wish for file systems in general. If a file is being held open by a process, ideally it should block by default but the user should be given an option to force delete. Neither of the two extremes between UNIX/Linux and Windows (silently allow and unconditionally disallow, respectively) is the most user-friendly.
