Roger that Jonathan, but since the GET command knows where the current directory is, it seems there should be something (most likely a SQLPlus something) that I could access to tell me what the current directory is. I can work around this but still seems to me an odd thing. I was hoping it would be one of those "Oh yea just check this" type things. Guess not.

Yes and No.
Remember that a Directory has to be on the server, and SQL*Plus is a client - which needn't be running on the server, and therefore may be unable to specify its local directory as Directory.
