In the oracle database installation guide 11.1 for Linux it says
4.2.6.2
Note: if you remove an NFS path that Oracle Database is using, then you must restart the database for the change to be effective

Hi all,
This question is on behalf of our sys admin. He has a question that we are unable to answer it. Hope someone might know it.
Is it possible to remove entries such as these:
export: /vol/fin_stage_db01/fin_stage_db0 mount: /FINSTG1
from the oranfstab without having to restart the database? The database is up running, to add/remove entries from oranfstab, do we need to bounce the database?
Thanks,
Joan
