You can use EM to create dataguard works pretty well. Step by Step Guide on Creating Physical Standby Using RMAN DUPLICATE...FROM ACTIVE DATABASE [ID 1075908.1]

rk. It seems simple enough, but I'm doing something very basic, wrong. I can't figure it out and Oracle support has been useless. Does anyone have a document on how to configure Data Guard, step-by-step? I'm looking for something very basic, none of the fancy options. I'd just like to see it work.
