Doh......seems that when I created my tnsnames file, I had it saved as tnsnames.ora.txt........that's why it could not find it. After I recreated it, and my sqlnet file, I was able to log in with just my zelli_at_aos.buffalo.edu username

I really hate windows.....

ciao,
Brian

Hi Brian,
I suppose that this is somehow related to your TNS configuration: how exactly did you set the TNS_NAMES variable - by using the windows registry or via My Computer->Properties ...etc. ?
