for now there more questions than answers for me...
- what is os/version ? - what is oracle rdbms version ? - who gives you such recommendation ? - what is your oracle instance memory allocation(sga/pga) ? - what is actual memory allocation at os level(like /proc/meminfo) ? - do you use large(huge) pages ?
