Has anyone tried to use client-side failover using Ace modules (network layer). The clients are configured to hit a network IP that, in turn, forwards them to any of the 2 Oracle VIP's of the cluster. This is vs. having to rely on tnsnames. The idea here is to avoid having to reconfigure the clients in case of a failover to standby node in case of a DR situation. A quick search returned info on using his method with Oracle application suite, but nothing specific to a GI/RAC cluster. If yes, please share your experience. I'm having an issues where the app is sporadically throwing 'listener not found' errors.
Thank you. --
