You make good points about bias. I am finding it easy to identify advantages of Oracle, but having a hard time finding relative strengths of sql*server. I wonder if there is an sqlserver-l full of partisans I could rile up?

Thanks again!

I think the hardest thing about what you ask is that the comparison be independent and unbiased. Usually , if you are a SQL*SERVER or ORACLE user/developer/dba you feel the others guys stuff is crap, and no one is going to tell you differently.

I have this old link when I was looking a while back. I am sure there are newer comparisons somewhere.

Like anything, take it with a grain of salt, but here is a comparison between 10g and SQL*Server 2005.

Are there any good online comparisons between current version of sql*server and oracle rdbms?

Anyone have any insight into the relative strength of sql*server vs. oracle?
