I think I figured it out:

(Windows)
Set NLS_DATE_FORMAT=DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS

RMAN> list backup of controlfile;

List of Backup Sets

BS Key Type LV Size Device Type Elapsed Time Completion Time
------- ---- -- ---------- ----------- ------------ --------------------

3096549 Full    1.08M      DISK        00:00:02     23-APR-2012 22:27:56
        BP Key: 3096554 Status: AVAILABLE Compressed: YES Tag: %TAG
        Piece Name: Z:\DBABACKUP\CURRENT\TST3\0EN96A3A_1_1
  Control File Included: Ckp SCN: 16795861918 Ckp time: 23-APR-2012 22:27:54

So 22:27:54 is the *earliest* I could duplicate this database using this backup, correct? (Or no?)

Ok, I couldn't find it quickly so I'm asking...

How do you find the earliest restore point within an existing RMAN backup?

Looking specifically for DATE & *TIME*
