Once you have taken care of all the pre-requisites mentioned in the doc link below. addNode.sh actually clones the CRS home and OUI installer with -updateNodeList clones the RDBMS home. So any patches you might have installed in CRS and RDBMS home will be automatically propagated to new node as well.
