Directing client connections to a set of nodes in 11gR2 RAC with SCAN

If you implement SCAN for your 3 or 4 Node 11gR2 RAC, how do you setup client applications to connect to a particular set of nodes? For example, say, you want your HR application connect to only node 1 and 2 and Payroll application connect to only 2 and 3?

Since TNS entry will have only SCAN name, how do we configure to direct the client applications to connect to only a set of nodes?
