Jeremy,

We have an 11g OMS and do use Corrective Actions in Grid Control when a metric threshold is reached for an Advanced Queuing and Streams Propagation job backlog is detected. The Corrective Action calls a stored procedure that stops and restarts the the queuing job or propagation process. We have the stored procedure email the DBA team that the action was performed and what the begin backlog count was and the end count after the restart to verify the transactions propagated successfully.

With our distributed environment we encounter that situation fairly regularly, so this eliminated a DBA manually having to do that. It has been working nicely.
