According to Note 1268725.1 and Bug 10263733, on 11.2.0.2 RAC, the snapshot controlfile used during RMAN backup must be placed on shared storage. I've searched on MOS and Internet for what type of shared storage is commonly used and their pros/cons, without success. What would you use?

- Raw disk (may be outdated in Linux)
- ASM (how?)
- ACFS (any bugs related to this?)
- NFS
- OCFS
- third party shared filesystem
ASM may be the most natural choice, if supported, and the RMAN command
would probably be
configure snapshot controlfile name to '+DATA/...'
