DBAs are "operator"s. There has been an explosion in the number of DBAs .... but .... quantity doesn't mean quality does it. (hey ! wait ! can't we say the same thing about Developers as well ?)
I see new DBAs using "old" Ratio based methods. New DBAs working on 10g and using scripts from V7 "passed down to them" (and they've never seen any database other than 10g -- so they reall do not know the difference between V7 and 10g ?).
